More than 500 patients at Southampton General Hospital have had the spirit of Easter brought to them early this year as the hospital’s charity hands out chocolate Easter eggs donated by local insurance provider Ageas.
Employees at Ageas, headquartered in Hampshire Corporate Park in Chandler’s Ford, have joined efforts and collected 517 Easter eggs over the last few weeks to share the joy with people of all ages who will be spending time in Southampton General Hospital over Easter
Suzie Simmons, Fundraising Manager for Southampton Hospital Charity said: “We are thrilled to be working in partnership with Ageas this Easter. The holiday periods are never a good time to be in hospital, but companies such as Ageas help to spread that extra little bit of cheer.
“We have over 1,100 beds within Southampton General Hospital alone, not including our day patients and clinics, and Easter egg donations collected from the local community are crucial for us to be able to positively surprise our patients, so we are very grateful to Ageas employees for their generosity.”
Paul Cann, Director of HR and Development, added: “We are very proud of our relationship with Southampton General Hospital and our employees are delighted they are able to share the joy and happiness of the Easter period with people who can’t spend it at home with their families and friends. At Ageas, we love to make a difference to our local community and support local charities whenever possible.”
