Ageas is pleased to announce the appointment of Ant Middle as CEO of Ageas Retail, subject to regulatory approval.  The Retail business is the fourth largest Personal Lines intermediary in the UK with around 2.5 million customers and includes the Kwik Fit Insurance Services, Express Insurance Services, RIAS and Castle Cover brands as well as Ageas Retail’s Partnership business, where Ant is currently Managing Director.  He will take up his new position from April 2015 and succeeds Mark Cliff who will leave Ageas on 30 April to join Brightside.

Ant joined Ageas in 2014 and has over 25 years experience in the insurance industry.  In addition to leading Ageas Retail’s Management Committee whose members will now report into him, Ant will join the UK Executive and Ageas UK Board which have responsibility for the strategic direction and delivery of the business plan across Ageas UK.  He will report into Andy Watson, Ageas UK’s CEO.  Caroline King, Director of Operations at Ageas Partnerships, will oversee that business for a period while Ant’s replacement is found and will join the Retail Management Committee in the interim.

Announcing the appointment, Andy Watson, CEO of Ageas UK said:

“I’m delighted that Ant will be leading our Retail business.  He has made a significant contribution to Ageas since joining us and proved to be a very strong candidate during a rigorous internal and external search process.  In his new role, we will continue to benefit from his considerable experience both in Ageas Retail and as part of the wider Ageas UK Executive team.”

“I’m excited to be given the opportunity to lead Ageas Retail at such an important stage of its development.  The market has never been more challenging and dynamic, I’m up for that challenge and I know our people are too.  I have loved my first year at Ageas and working with an impressive team we have made great progress.  I’m now looking forward to working with them and our trading partners to increase that momentum and ensure we deliver on our collective ambitions.”
