Tesco Underwriting partners with the Chartered Institute of Insurance (CII)

The latest addition to the north-east’s insurance scene, Tesco Underwriting, cemented its commitment to professional development at a joint hosted open evening with the CII on 26 January 2011.

Tesco Underwriting, the new joint venture between Tesco Bank and Ageas, has set out its commitment to personal development, by partnering with the CII to host a networking evening for 30 insurance industry professionals. The event, held yesterday, at Quorum Business Park, was open to CII members and those already working in the industry and living in the north-east. Guests had the opportunity to tour round the company’s new, state-of-the-art offices as well as hear, at first hand, exciting plans for its future.

Introducing the event, Geoff Carter, CEO, Tesco Underwriting said: “As a recent newcomer to Newcastle’s insurance scene, I am thrilled to be partnering with the CII, and I hope this event marks the first of many. This is a perfect opportunity to introduce Tesco Underwriting to insurance professionals in the area as we look to recruit 250 professionals to our team. This is an exciting time for us and a great start to 2011.” Incoming President of the CII Newcastle, Matt Hodgson, added: “I am delighted to welcome such a prestigious name as Tesco Underwriting to Newcastle and wish the team every success. The event was extremely well attended, demonstrating the importance of professional development to the future of our industry.”

Tesco Underwriting is looking to recruit 250 professionals for its claims team throughout the year.
