Due to the discovery of a WW2 bomb in the River Thames, London City Airport has been closed. All flights have been cancelled affecting up to 16,000 passengers.

My flight has been cancelled, what should I do?

All passengers due to travel on affected flights have been advised not to travel to the airport and to contact their airline. You may be eligible for transfer to an alternative flight or a refund of your ticket.

What cover do I have with my Ageas Travel policy?

Costs arising from this particular event will only be covered if you have paid the additional premium to include Travel Disruption cover and only if your trip was not booked as part of a package holiday. Unfortunately, there is no cover under any other section of the policy.

Am I covered for replacement travel/accommodation costs?

If you have paid the additional premium to include Travel Disruption Cover and your flight has been cancelled or delayed for at least 12 hours, you are covered up to £1,000 per person for the cost of additional travel expenses and extra accommodation in order to reach your destination. You will not be covered under this section if the airline has offered you alternative arrangements. A £50 excess per person applies to claims under this section.
